The VOICE Project: The vision for modular taxonomy production at Elsevier​ [Webinar]

Hear from Elsevier’s Senior Knowledge Strategy Manager, George Georghiou, as he explores the migration of Elsevier’s ontology and taxonomy estate over to SciBite’s taxonomy management tool CENtree and combining it with automation to help our taxonomy editors integrate new terms and concepts into our taxonomies and, subsequently into our products.

Elsevier aims to streamline taxonomy production by creating a shared infrastructure through the Vision for Ontological Interoperability & Content Enhancement or more commonly known as the VOICE project. A critical part of the VOICE project is making our taxonomies more FAIR for our customers, allowing them to map between our concepts and several public standards.

This webinar explores the migration, the challenges faced when doing this and the role SciBite played in helping make this a reality. Additionally, George will outline plans to create more interoperable taxonomies that will benefit both our internal teams and customers alike.

This session is ideal for data scientists, knowledge engineers, domain experts, and anyone interested in the intersection of AI and knowledge management. During this webinar, we discuss the migration, the challenges faced when doing this and the role SciBite played in helping make this a reality.

George Georghiou
Senior Knowledge Strategy Manager

George Georghiou is the Senior Knowledge Strategy Manager for Data Science in Elsevier’s Life Science team. Since joining 2 years ago after working for Novartis in the Novartis Knowledge Center as an Information Manager, George is bringing his experience as a former customer to Elsevier.

Combined with his experience working with FAIRifying data with ontologies and taxonomies in both academia and in pharma, he has been helping Elsevier deliver AI solutions using its semantically rich taxonomies and ontologies in combination with its robust data corpus.
