SciBite is committed to training our customers to use SciBite tools effectively and confidently. We offer customer-specific (dedicated) live training to our license-holders (customers) and during proof-of-concept studies. To complement the live training, we have a self-service training portal called SciBite Academy, enabling SciBite customers to take training at a time that suits them.

SciBite Academy is an on-demand training portal for SciBite customers. The portal provides on-demand training resources showing customers how to use SciBite tools.
Customers with a SciBite license can use SciBite Academy training materials to understand the features, functionality, and applications of their new tools. They can access training as soon as they have their license and quickly begin implementing it in their everyday work.
We also provide access to SciBite Academy as part of our proof-of-concept studies. These enable potential customers to quickly understand and test the functionality of SciBite tools.
Users can browse training topics in their own time and learn at their own speed. They can also choose the training materials most appropriate for their skillset and current level of background knowledge.
The portal’s training content is designed to complement the tailored live training sessions we deliver to customers. Users can familiarize themselves with tools ahead of live training sessions, allowing them to get maximum value from sessions with our technical experts. Users can revisit recordings of live sessions and build their knowledge and skills further by delving into additional topics in SciBite Academy; these include guides to more advanced features.
This training can improve customers’ productivity overall, as it means they spend less time figuring out how to optimize the tools and more time obtaining useful results. SciBite’s training content improves users’ tool proficiency to significantly increase speed and efficiency, as well as helping them unlock the full functionality of the tools.
SciBite customers receive their own SciBite Academy account. They can then use the portal to select the training materials most relevant to them. SciBite Academy contains courses on the key SciBite tools, including TERMite, CENtree, SciBite Search, and Workbench.
The portal includes introductory courses for users who are completely new to the tools, as well as more advanced courses. ‘How-To’ courses showcase key tool features, while role-specific courses show how tools can be adapted to the user’s routine tasks. With permission from participants, recordings of customer-specific live training sessions are made available to that customer through SciBite Academy in a restricted, customer-only space. These enable portal users to revisit particular details or view sessions they may have missed.
The landing page of the portal groups available courses under the relevant SciBite tools. Users can go directly to the tool they have licensed, browse the course descriptions and enrol on their course of choice.
SciBite Academy also offers learning plans: these are collections of courses targeted at specific user roles, presented in an intuitive order for the user’s learning journey. There are a small selection of learning plans currently available, with more on the way. Users can re-order the course selection for each plan or skip component courses entirely, depending on their needs.
When a customer purchases a new license, its users are given access to SciBite Academy as part of the onboarding process. Each user receives an email containing login instructions. There is also a self-registration option, whereby individuals can request an account. Such applications are reviewed and approved by SciBite.
The portal has primarily been designed for desktop use, but users can also download our mobile app.
SciBite routinely updates training content on the portal to reflect new features and new versions of the tools.
SciBite is eager to hear from customers about their training experiences and needs. We are continually improving and expanding our training content. If we receive requests to cover specific topics in training, we will prioritize these when creating new materials.
There is a feedback form on every page of the portal, allowing users to tell SciBite if they did not find the training content they needed, or to leave suggestions for improving current content. In the future, SciBite plans to add more dedicated feedback facilities within the portal.
At present, there are not, but SciBite plans to introduce certificates for customers who have completed sets of courses. Customers will be able to share a ‘badge’ on professional networking sites like LinkedIn, or on their resume/CV, to demonstrate their proficiency in using specific tools.
