We’re thrilled to announce that SciBite has been named ‘Technology Company of the Year’ at the Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards!
Last night, Cambridge Independent hosted their 4th annual Science and Technology awards in a virtual environment. The awards have rapidly garnered an international reputation as the leading celebration of science and technology in the region. Winners in 14 categories were revealed, covering sectors ranging from biotech to AI, cleantech to innovation. The other finalists within our category had achieved some fantastic results so we are honored to win this award.
Our CEO, Rob Greenwood, and CSO & Founder, Lee Harland attended the event where organizers had worked with an events company to create a virtual venue allowing attendees to see and speak to others on their table, or move between tables and areas as they would at a physical venue. The winners were then announced live on screen for those attending.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the SciBite team for winning this fantastic award, it’s a testament to the hard work everyone puts in day in and day out that we’re able to achieve commendations like this,” says CEO Rob Greenwood, “I can safely say I haven’t attended an awards ceremony quite like this one from the comfort of my own home, but I can’t wait for the day we can all return safely to the office again to celebrate together.”
The last 9 months have been incredibly busy for us at SciBite, from being acquired by global research publishing and information analytics provider Elsevier, launching our state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence software platform SciBite AI; and most recently launching our next-generation semantic search platform SciBite Search.
Last month Rob and Lee, along with our CTO James Malone and Head of Ontologies Jane Lomax, had the pleasure of joining HRH The Princess Royal and Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Mrs Julie Spence in their first virtual Royal visit in honor of our 2020 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation award win.
We’d like to congratulate all of the finalists at last night’s virtual ceremony, where an enormous amount of science and technology talent from across the region was displayed, and we are incredibly proud to have been a part of it!
