SciBite releases DOCstore 1.4 – latest version of semantic search application

SciBite releases DOCstore 1.4, the latest version of the next generation, end-user search application.

DOCstore

DOCstore combines a powerful search capability with a biologically-aware smart index, built on SciBite’s named entity recognition engine of TERMite and VOCabs, the expertly curated reference library containing millions of scientific terms and their synonyms.

Capable of handling any text, DOCstore’s intuitive search interface and RESTful APIs, allow users to search not only not keywords but also their semantics. DOCstore is simple to deploy yet powerful enough to handle millions of records, and offers lightning-fast scientific search and analysis features at the click of a button.

The focus of this release includes:

  • Increased selectivity in source selection when searching
  • A taxonomy filter for advanced searching with higher level concepts
  • An api for Taxonomy navigation
  • Enhanced administration portal allowing edits to autocomplete and index backups
  • Results view customisations including a ‘snippet view’ to reduce the text volume and the ability to customise the number of documents shown on a per source level
  • Uniprot and Ensembl identifiers added to autocomplete
  • Autocomplete user experience enhancements
  • Amazon Web Services enabled
  • Faster plain text searching for longer plain text segments
