What’s new in the latest release CENtree 1.2

Ontologies are used as data standards across many life sciences organisations and play a key role in the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data movement. However, maintaining multiple, dynamic public and proprietary ontologies has typically required significant ontology expertise.

We’re pleased to announce the latest 1.2 release of CENtree, our enterprise ready multi-user ontology management platform for browsing and managing ontologies. This latest release includes powerful features that make creating, customising and visualising ontologies simpler, helping users build and maintain ontology standards and power applications with a centralised, collaborative ontology editor.

Recreate custom application ontologies

Users were previously able to create custom application ontologies in CENtree. In this release, the steps for creating a custom ontology are stored and can be easily replayed or updated from the reference sources they use. It is also now possible to view the implications of applying an update before they are performed.

Improvements to results navigation including new graph view

Along with the tree view, ontologies can now be visualised in an intuitive graph view, where a selected class displays connected entities and relationships within the existing or other ontologies.

OPEN ID access and a new role

This release supports OPEN ID single sign on access to CENtree, and an enhanced authorisation system for allowing certain users to manage both the content and permissions of particular ontologies.
